Sassool Mediterranean Cafe Hosts a Food Blogger "Hummus Mix Off" in Celebration of Owner's Mother
To honor and celebrate Cecilia Saleh's birthday, Sassool recently hosted a"Hummus Mix Off" and party on August 3, 2019. Cecilia is owner Mounir Saleh's mother who brought authentic recipes with her when she immigrated from Lebanon with her family to Raleigh in the 1970s. The name of the restaurant, Sassool, is the nickname that Cecilia was called by her father when she was a child.

In an effort to promote some of the amazing North Carolina women in agriculture, the N.C. Biotechnology Center’s Ag Sector Development team, N.C. Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, N.C. Farm Bureau and Feed the Dialogue N.C. created the Ponytail Ag campaign. During the four-month tour, key stakeholders from each organization will be traveling across the state’s six regions —Western, Greater Charlotte, Piedmont Triad, Research Triangle Park, Eastern and Southeastern— to interview influential women involved in all aspects of agriculture, from the farm to the lab and from government to schools.

The Ponytail Ag tour will be travelling through North Carolina’s six regions—Western, Greater Charlotte, Piedmont Triad, Research Triangle Park, Eastern and Southeastern—to highlight influential women in the agriculture industry.
The Conservators Center Announces Lions, Tigers and Beer Event 🐯 🍺
Embark on a taste bud safari! In partnership with Tabletop Media Group, the Conservators Center is hosting Lions, Tigers and Beer on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019 at 6pm. Tickets are $100 each—or $180 for two—and include six food and beer pairings from local chefs and breweries, as well as a guided walking tour. All proceeds from the event go to the care of the animals at the Conservators Center.

Chef Drew Smith to Host kō•än Pop-up at Sister Restaurant so•ca
kō•än, opening in Cary this August, plans to host a summer-long pop-up series at sister restaurant so•ca in Cameron Village. The pop-up features unique cocktails and small plates that diners can expect to find on the upcoming kō•än menu. Executive Chef Drew Smith and his talented team plan to launch the kō•än pop-up this Friday, June 28th at so•ca, located at 2130 Clark Ave, Raleigh, NC 27605. The regular menu will still be available at so•ca, along with the added kō•än pop-up items.
