Danielle's Day Trip to North Hills!

Hello, foodies!

How exciting is it to know we live in a city that was recently ranked the SECOND best place to live in the United States?! Raleigh is a city filled with an extraordinary amount of things to do and explore, and admit it, the food scene here is booming and unbeatable! Our city is passionate about local eats, fresh ingredients, handcrafted cocktails, and craft beer.

Recently, I planned a day trip to North Hills, located in the heart of Raleigh. I love this area because it feels like a small city of its own with luxury dining and shopping.

I started my morning at Edible Art Bakery because why not have cake for breakfast?! Edible Art Bakery has been a family-owned bakery since 1982, and all their desserts are scratch-made. I ordered their most popular cake flavor, Almond Amaretto Pound Cake, a delicious moist almond cake filled with a crunchy amaretto nut filling and frosted with almond buttercream. Cake with a cup of coffee makes the best breakfast, and want to know a sweet secret? On BOGO Tuesdays, cake slices and cupcakes are buy one, get one FREE!

Afterwards, I explored the boutiques in the North Hills area and headed to Kendra Scott. (Birthday Tip: Kendra Scott celebrates your birthday month with 50% off one item!) Every year I treat myself because I love their style of jewelry.

Later, I met with my girlfriends at Level7 Rooftop, located at the AC Hotel Raleigh North Hills, for afternoon handcrafted cocktails and tapas. We ordered the Avocado Toast and Papas. The papas were a hit! They were crispy, seasoned to perfection, and drizzled with delicious smoked paprika aioli. The view from the rooftop is the perfect place overlooking the North Hills neighborhood.

Once we left Level7, we walked to Raleigh’s Art Gallery + Wine Bar, Vita Vite. If you are a wine lover who wants to wind down, this place is for you! Sip on a glass of wine, explore the art. and enjoy a customized charcuterie board. Their charcuterie board is the best in the area, and I already made plans to go back to indulge again. The blueberry goat cheese… it's phenomenal!

North Hills makes a fun destination to explore with friends and family! Plan a day trip, and if you want to stay longer, make sure to book at one of their luxury hotels: The Renaissance or AC Hotel.
