Vitis House Announces New Location in Charlotte
Chef-Owner and wine educator Doreen Colondres of Vitis House is excited to announce the opening of her second location in Charlotte, North Carolina. Currently based in Raleigh, Vitis House is a food, wine and spirits school with classes and courses ranging from Wine 101 to WSET® (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) and WSG™ (Wine Scholar Guild) certifications. Vitis House will be the first of its kind in Charlotte and will offer WSET® Level 1-3 courses taught by WSET® certified instructor, Brianna Burns (DipWSET). The new location is set to open in September of this year.
The Location
Vitis House will be located at Hygge in Camp North End when it opens in Charlotte. Colondres has a personal appeal to the location stating, “Hygge is a happy spot and Camp North End is very vibrant. Pretty much everything exciting with food, spirits and art is happening here. The location is inspiring and relaxing; I’m thrilled to be there.”
WSET® Courses
The Wine & Spirit Education Trust® (WSET®) provides best-in-class education and qualifications to inspire and empower the world’s wine and spirits professionals and enthusiasts. WSET® qualifications are globally recognized as the international standard in wine and spirit knowledge. These courses are great for individuals pursuing an interest in wine, wine lovers, wine collectors or for those who want to start a career in the wine business. Explore the main grape varieties, wine regions and styles of wine through sight, smell, and taste, while also gaining the basic skills to describe wines accurately. Vitis House will be the only wine school in Charlotte to offer WSET® courses and they are set to begin September 25th.
Wine Classes
Wine 101 is just one among a number of diverse classes Chef Doreen Colondres designs exclusively for Vitis House. Other classes like Ole Wines and Tapas, Malbec and Empanadas and Tequila or Mezcal take guests on an exploration of different regions' cuisine and wine. Vitis House also covers the basics of wine with Sensory 101 classes and Romantic Reds. Dates for Charlotte classes are to be announced soon.
