STIR Raleigh to Partner with Oak City Cares for The Month of November

During a time when many are in need, STIR is supporting Oak City Cares, a Raleigh-based charity, by donating a portion of their proceeds during the month of November. Oak City Cares is Wake County’s first multi-services hub for connecting individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness to critical services. When STIR opened two years ago, it partnered with Oak City Cares to raise money for its mission, and continues to do so today.

"We are so grateful for the long-term partnership we have with STIR and for their desire to support Oak City Cares and our neighbors experiencing homelessness.  The needs for our services are increasing, and their support really makes a difference," said Oak City Cares Executive Director, Kathy Johnson.

SquareOne Holding Company, the Chattanooga-based hospitality group that owns and operates several restaurants and breweries throughout the region including STIR Raleigh, has established The SquareUp Foundation so that STIR Raleigh and its sister restaurants can partner with charitable organizations in each city where they operate.

"The root of the hospitality industry should be just that; a welcoming and generous environment that thrives on supporting others," said Allen Corey, CEO of SquareOne Holding. "SquareOne believes hospitality should extend far beyond our dining tables and into the communities in which we live. The SquareUp Foundation is doing just that."

Dine with STIR during November to give back to a local Raleigh cause. STIR will also have QR codes available on each table if you’d like to make separate donations.

About Oak City Cares

Oak City Cares is a public-private partnership that exists to support the self-determination of our neighbors experiencing homelessness through trusting relationships and connections to coordinated services that increase their ability to be safely and stably housed. Oak City Cares believes that no person should experience homelessness alone. It envisions a community which acts as a gathering space where all people can listen and be listened to, connect on a level which values respect above all else, and serve others as best as possible;  where the length of time a person experiences homelessness is minimized through the use of radical hospitality and by removing barriers that hinder them from accessing essential and coordinated services; and where community collaborations with government, non-profit and faith-based organizations strengthen the pathways to these life rebuilding services.

About STIR

STIR is the perfect restaurant to sip a cocktail over a dozen oysters, enjoy a night out, or meet for lunch. Located in the Bank of America Building in North Hills, STIR is open for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. Believing that great food starts with fresh ingredients, STIR’s kitchen prepares everything from scratch. Their signature cold bar is stocked with fresh oysters and seasonal seafood. Famous for craft cocktails, STIR freezes and carves 300-pound blocks of artisanal ice and blends their own cordials and syrups in-house. STIR, also has a huge focus on giving back to the community as well as within. SquareUp, the charitable organization created by STIR’s hospitality ownership company, assists employees who require financial support during times of economic hardship through the HOPE (Helping Our People in Emergencies) Fund. Donations ranging between $500 and $1,000 to help employees facing natural disasters, illness, injury or other emergencies. STIR is located at 4242 Six Forks Road Suite 100, Raleigh, NC 27609.
