N.C. State Fair Media Day 2021

Quinn here! Yesterday, Kristen and I had the fun (and tasty) opportunity to join the N.C. State Fair for their media day. After being closed last year, it was really great to get back together and taste the fair’s newest food features! There were around a dozen fair foods to try (yes, we were stuffed). After giving each one a taste, we wanted to share our top 5 favorite bites, one of which won the popular vote from the media day! 

Shrimp and Mac & Cheese Egg Roll from Waypoint Oyster Bar. This was such a tasty treat!! Fresh NC shrimp and creamy mac & cheese all wrapped in a crispy egg roll wrapper and dipped in a creamy and spicy aioli! 

Jerk BBQ Chicken Sliders with Tropical Slaw from Cool Runnings Jamaican. We loved this spicy and crunchy sandwich! It had a super flavorful and slow heat that hit you after the first bite. This delicious sandwich also won the popular vote at the media day! 

Deep Fried Lobster Pop from Oak City Fish and Chips. So fresh, so crunchy, and so flavorful! We strongly recommend trying this treat at the N.C. State Fair.

Hot Chix Hot Cakes & Chicken Twisted Chicken on Tots. Crispy tater tots covered in white cheddar mac and cheese, topped with chopped fried chicken tenderloin and your choice of sauce. Need we say more?

Banana Pudding from OMG! Foods OMG! Creamy, cold, and so refreshing! We strongly suggest making this your last stop at the fair to end the day or night on a sweet note.
