How To Make Instagram Story Quizzes

Raise your hand if you’ve been spending more time on Instagram since quarantine. 🙋‍♀️ I am totally guilty. Although social media can be overwhelming at times, it’s a wonderful place to come together and be social in a time when interaction is super limited. You may have noticed brands or bloggers participating in fun ways to communicate with their followers by creating Instagram quizzes or templates for bingo that are shared on their stories.

These quizzes are fun and engaging ways to get people talking about your brand or products! Take a template that is typically geared toward asking personal questions like “describe your mood in a gif” and tweak it to say something like “what’s your favorite dish from [insert restaurant name here]” or “what’s your favorite product from [insert brand name here].”

We’ve played around with a few templates for our clients that got people buzzing and sharing these templates amongst their own followers, resulting in more and more followers to our clients’ Instagram pages. Howling Cow received around 500 views on their bingo template resulting in 50+ new followers.

A few tips:

Use a website like Canva for your template. It saves a lot of time. You’ll sub out their words for selections that reflect your brand. In the template below, you could choose options from your menu for the Craving Challenge. For example, you could have them pick in the first line between your Bacon Cheeseburger or Three Cheese Grilled Cheese. You could also have someone choose between cocktails that you serve.

Make sure your quiz is colorful and aesthetically pleasing, without causing brand confusion. For example, if your logo is pink and white and your brand is bright and cheerful, I wouldn’t use dark, moody colors for your Instagram quiz.

Don’t forget to include your Instagram tag on your quiz! As it gets reshared, you want people to know who made the template so they can come back to your page.
