Friends of Tabletop: Meet Janna Bass from Cape Fear Farm Credit!

Friends of Tabletop is a place where we share who we love working with. This can range from a client, influencer/blogger, or special someone who simply means a lot to the Tabletop Team. Colleagues and friends who we’ve met throughout our journey with Tabletop Media Group make us a part of who we are.

This month, we are featuring Janna Bass of Cape Fear Farm Credit!

Tell us about Cape Fear Farm Credit and your position there.

Cape Fear Farm Credit provides loans to those in agriculture and rural living residents through southeastern North Carolina. With a shared purpose to serve agriculture to enrich the lives of others, we have a passion to provide needed funding for agricultural businesses and individuals living within rural communities. I have the privilege to serve as the Marketing & Financial Services Manager at Cape Fear Farm Credit.

What's your favorite thing about living in North Carolina?

The opportunities to explore. From day trips to week-long getaways, we can easily explore the mountains to coast, and everything in between.

What's your coffee order?

Iced Fat Free/Skim Caramel Macchiato

Do you have a favorite/fun story about how you got to where you are in your career, or maybe a fun story from working at Cape Fear Farm Credit?

Oh, the stories I have to tell. Growing up in an urban area, I did not have many agricultural opportunities. I met my now husband at NC State University, and we have shared lots of laughs along the way, as I have asked questions about his job as a farmer. When we got married, I challenged myself to work every role on the farm so I have a better understanding about the industry – and need I say the laughs continued from there. But I am so humbled and thankful to have the opportunity to be married to a farmer. His passion for the industry and growing local safe food for others is inspiring. When the position opened up at Farm Credit, it was a natural fit so that I can do what I love with marketing to serve those whom I am inspired by.

What's your favorite Thanksgiving tradition?

Just being with my family. I have three precious boys and they make all things exciting. We typically visit family and enjoy time making memories.

Who impacted you the most in your career?

I have had several individuals that have helped lead me into my career today, for them I am so thankful. To the teacher that taught me to step out of my comfort zone to my first manager that reminded me that details set you apart. But most of all, my parents instilled in me from an early age to put “quality over quantity” and to treat others with the kindness of Christ.
