Friends of Tabletop: Meet Kari from Village District!

Friends of Tabletop is a place where we share who we love working with. This can range from a client, influencer/blogger, or special someone who simply means a lot to the Tabletop Team. Colleagues and friends who we’ve met throughout our journey with Tabletop Media Group make us a part of who we are.

For our October Friends of Tabletop, meet Kari from Village District!

Tell us about Village District and your position there.

Village District has been a favorite neighborhood destination for shoppers and diners since 1949 and offers a unique mix of many local merchants all offering distinct products and experiences. We are very excited to celebrate 75 years next year! My role is the Marketing and Events Manager and I lead all consumer marketing efforts!

What's your favorite thing about working with Village District?

I love that every day is different and that I get to interact with so many different merchants and vendors!

Do you have a fun story from working with Village District?

This role itself is extremely fun, but if I had to choose, I would say getting to meet and spend some time with the NC State Mascots onsite at Village District. I brought Mr. and Ms. Wuf onsite to get all the NC State Pack fans and students excited for the upcoming school year and football season!

Any fun events coming up at Village District?

The BOO-ze Halloween Wine Walk on Friday the 13th! For all my fellow Fall and Halloween lovers this is the perfect event for you! Whether you want to make in a ghouls-night out or have the family come along there will be something for everyone! DJ, Trick-or-Treating, Shopping, Sipping various wines and Hot Apple Cider, prizes and more! Come dressed in your best costumes and join us for a spooky night in the Village! All ticket sales will benefit Frankie Lemmon School & Developmental Center.

What's your favorite coffee/cocktail order?

Starbucks: Brown Sugar Oatmilk Espresso and add chai (a new favorite I’ve been hooked on this year)

Dunkin: Always, always a caramel iced coffee!

Cocktail order go-to: A classic lime margarita on the rocks with a salted rim!

What is your least favorite food?

Definitely olives and anything that is too spicy. Other than that, I’m down to try anything!

What's your favorite thing to do in Raleigh?

Shop at Village District of course And also spend time exploring new date night spots with my fiancé and different parks with my Golden Retriever, Murphy!

What's your favorite fall activity?

Taking chilly walks, a good mountain trip, and eating anything and everything pumpkin flavored!
