Friends of Tabletop (Christmas Edition): Meet Jessica Linn from Linn Style

Friends of Tabletop is a place where we share who we love working with. This can range from a client, influencer/blogger, or special someone who simply means a lot to the Tabletop Team. Colleagues and friends who we’ve met throughout our journey with Tabletop Media Group make us a part of who we are.

In this special Christmas edition of Friends of Tabletop, meet Jessica Linn from Linn Style!

Jessica Linn

Tell us about Linn Style.

My husband actually convinced me to start blogging in 2014. I was dealing with postpartum depression pretty badly and the only thing that really excited me was new clothes (haha)! He told me since I liked clothing so much I should start sharing my outfits and writing about them. He set up my first site for me and everything. That was a different blog that I eventually rebranded to Linn Style (my sad attempt at making a pun with my name). He's still my number 1 supporter and takes 99.99% of my pictures.

Why do you write about lifestyle & fashion?

When I first tried blogging in 2014 it was still pretty new and all the fashion bloggers I saw at the time were more high fashion with a lot of expensive pieces. It didn't feel very approachable to me and I wanted my page to feel welcoming to everyone so turned it more into a lifestyle page to share real-life stories and outfits that were approachable.

What is your favorite Christmas tradition?

Driving around to look at Christmas lights!

What's your favorite Christmas cookie?

My grandma made the most delicious Hungarian cookies for Christmas every year!

Tell us about your favorite Christmas ornament.

All of my kids' first Christmas ornaments.

Jessica Linn

Holiday bar or coffee order?

Chestnut Praline latte with coconut milk at Starbucks. My favorite drink ever.

Go-to Christmas pajamas?

I go to Target every year for matching family pajamas.

What's the most useful lesson you've learned from being a blogger?

I've learned a lot about myself in general. I used to think I didn't care what people thought of me but mean comments will make you question things real fast! I've been working on just being myself, not trying to be like other bloggers I admire, and just being okay with not everyone liking me.

If you could redo one thing in regards to your blogging / social influencer career what would it be?

I would have been more consistent. I took a lot of breaks due to school and pregnancies.

Who has been the most influential person in your career?

Number 1 would be my husband. He's the one who pushed me to start. He's also a web designer and I am technologically illiterate, so I would not have even been able to set up a website without him.

The person who first made us realize blogging and social media was even an option to make a living was the OG herself, Amber Fillerup. She was one of the first bloggers I followed. My husband  saw I thought what she did was cool and he was like, "Why don't you try it?" Even though I'm a very small blogger, I've already gotten to do things I never even imagined.
