Friends of Tabletop Christmas Edition: Meet Rachael from NC Mom Adventures! 🎄
Friends of Tabletop is a place where we share who we love working with. This can range from a client, influencer/blogger, or special someone who simply means a lot to the Tabletop Team. Colleagues and friends who we’ve met throughout our journey with Tabletop Media Group make us a part of who we are.
For our December Friends of Tabletop, meet Rachael from NC Mom Adventures! 🎄
Tell us about NC Mom Adventures.
First, thank you so much for thinking of me for the December Friends of Tabletop! I’m so grateful for you all and appreciate working with you so much! My name is Rachael and I’m a stay home mom to my two awesome (and sometimes crazy) kids! Fun fact: My husband and I met in high school in New Jersey - And no, we never dated back then. We lost touch for years and eventually met back up on Christmas Eve waiting for a flight out of RDU, which was delayed! He asked me to go get some coffee and the rest is history! I also love exploring, traveling to new places, being creative and above all family is everything to me. Lastly, I’m a total introvert, which often surprises people, but I’m working on being more extroverted and outgoing.
How did your Instagram page come to be?
It almost happened by accident to be honest. During the height of Covid, I found that I was really good at finding places to go and explore to bring some joy and normalcy to my family. Playgrounds were shut down and restaurant dining rooms were closed. I knew local businesses were really struggling. I found ways to think outside the box to support businesses… That’s when my passion for supporting local really grew. I found ways to order food, pick up safely and even had ice cream trucks come to our cul de sac and made sure neighbors stayed 6 feet apart, but took pride in the joy they had for something “normal.” I took my family out exploring new places and hiking all over. I started posting what we did online and people really appreciated it! They asked me to keep posting ideas of things to do and places to go. After years of friends pushing me, I finally started my own page on Instagram and it really took off.
What is your favorite Christmas tradition?
Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year so we have a lot of traditions. My husband and I always buy 1 ornament a year to reflect on something significant that happened (starting with a marriage ornament, buying a home, having a baby, etc.) And we continued that with our kids once they were born. Of course the usual: seeing Santa, elf on the shelf, seeing Christmas lights, all the holiday movies, decorating our tree and baking LOTS of cookies! Also, a mimosa for mommy on Christmas morning is a must! Ha ha!
What's your favorite Christmas cookie?
I make my grandmothers raspberry thumbprint cookies every year at Christmas. It’s another tradition and the only time of year I make them, so it’s special to me.
Tell us about your favorite Christmas ornament.
I don’t think I could pick just one. My whole tree is truly filled with special ornaments and I wouldn’t have it any other way. They all have special meaning and a story behind each one.
Holiday bar order or coffee order?
Yes please! Ha! If you know me, you know I love a good cocktail and coffee is my love language! Favorite holiday bar order lately has been cranberry aperol spritz! Coffee is peppermint mocha.
What is your favorite Christmas song?
This one definitely depends on my mood! I love some of the newer stuff like Gwen Stefani - “You Make it feel like Christmas” and Sia’s Christmas album, but I also love so many of the classics. I don’t think I can pick just one.
Go-to Christmas pajamas?
I’m a sucker for family matching pajamas! I’m THAT mom! I’ll do matching pj’s until my kids won’t let me.
What's the most useful lesson you've learned from being a content creator?
To follow my gut and my heart. It’s easy to self doubt, especially when there are so many people doing content creation. I think there is room for everyone and we all bring something unique and special to the table.
If you could redo one thing in regards to your social influencer career what would it be?
Probably to start it sooner! I don’t know why I waited so long. I have loved meeting so many amazing business owners, influencers and people that I otherwise would have never met. I hope to inspire others to get out and explore more and I’m thankful to be able to share about local businesses and hope that I’m making a small impact for them in a positive way.
