Date Night Ideas

Are you and your significant other looking for some new date night ideas? We’ve got you covered. Start planning your next date night with these fun recommendations from our clients!

Kanki Restaurant

Fire up date night with an exciting teppanyaki show at Kanki! If your date doesn't catch the shrimp mid-air, don't hold it against them… making memories is what it’s all about.

Whether you’re craving hibachi filet, scallops, shrimp, or tender grilled chicken, there’s something for everyone on their menu. Pro tip if you or your date is vegetarian: Hibachi Vegetables Delight is a must try. Order a sake flight to share, or one of Kanki’s tasty signature cocktails. Sushi lover’s will appreciate their tempting selection of specialty rolls, as well as nigiri and sashimi options.

Did you know Kanki is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year? Choose between two locations in Raleigh, and one in Durham. Reservations are recommended, and available anytime apart from Saturday evenings. This family-owned business makes for a classic, timeless date night spot that never fails!

Asali Desserts Cafe

Date nights don’t get any sweeter than this! For a romantic night in, swing by Asali Desserts & Cafe in Cary to pick up beautiful desserts to share. Their Baklava Cheesecake is a must-try, but you’ll have plenty to choose from! Asali’s large dessert menu is full of incredible Middle Eastern treats, unique creations from owner Hanadi Asad, plus classic favorites sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.

If you’d rather venture out with your special someone, the cafe is open for dine in and their ambiance is hard to beat. You can also find a variety of covered, outdoor seating options around MacGregor Village. Craving something savory? Their menu includes delicious tabbouli, hummus, and breakfast pastries featuring ingredients like spinach, tomato, egg and feta cheese.

Insider tip: Their head barista Tim does incredible latte art… to-go cups included. Make a request or let him surprise you and your date with something fun.

Big League Waffles

Want to score big on date night? Bring your #1 fan to the sweetest spot in Raleigh, Big League Waffles, located in Morgan Street Food Hall, for a scratch-made liège waffle topped with Homeland Creamery ice cream.

If you haven't experienced the taste of a liège waffle, then this is the place to go! Liège waffles are made from a brioche-like dough with pearl sugar mixed in. The pearls of sugar hold their shape and caramelize the waffle as it cooks, creating sweet and crystalized bites of sugar and golden brown crispy edges.

A warm waffle topped with ice cream is a winning combination, but to make this even sweeter, order a Homerun! The Homerun is a waffle with a scoop of ice cream, fresh fruit, and a drizzle of your choice. The hardest decision will be choosing from the 12 refreshing ice cream flavors! Our personal favorite is the Cookies & Cream ice cream with Nutella drizzle.

Don't drop the ball and miss out on this plate of deliciousness, plan a date night this weekend!

Game On Escapes

Think outside the box and take your date on an exciting escape room adventure! Located in Cary, Game On Escapes offers a variety of unique (and sometimes spooky) escape rooms including Trapped in the Jungle, Rest Easy Motel and MacGregor Manor. Can you and your significant other work together to escape in the nick of time? You might just learn something new about your significant other in the process. The same can’t always be said for dinner and a movie!

Add craft beer and delicious local eats to your Game On date night by visiting their newest location at BoxyardRTP. You and your date can try your hand at state-of-the-art virtual reality games and mind bending mini puzzles!

Either location you choose is sure to make for an escape from the ordinary and an unforgettable date night.
