Chef Kyle Teears from Craften Wins Fifth Annual Cooking for the Kids Chef Competition

Raleigh, NC - March 17, 2023 - Rocky Top Catering announces Chef Kyle Teears from Craften as the fifth annual Cooking for the Kids winner. After three rounds of extensive cooking and extraordinary dishes, Teears was voted to take home the grand prize of $10,000, awarded by Overflowing Hands. Teears competed against and cooked alongside Chef Josiah Halbohm from Young Hearts Distilling as they both utilized Wilders Farm Wagyu Beef, Sunny Creek Farm Sweet Fingerling Potatoes, and Cloister Honey, which were the three secret ingredients of the evening. The curveball ingredient of the evening was Cheerwine. Although Teears went home as the winner, Halbohm brought home the second place prize of $3,000. Chef Kyle Fletcher from Bodega Tapas was awarded third place in the chef competition, taking home $1,500. Chef James R. Patterson from McConnell Golf was awarded fourth place in the chef competition, taking home $500.
Cooking for the Kids raised over $115,000 for Overflowing Hands, a volunteer-led organization serving the most vulnerable children in our neighborhoods and around the world, fighting food insecurity and providing clothing, shelter and healthcare.
