Celebrating #NationalBakingMonth at Asali Desserts & Café!

Asali Desserts & Café, located in Cary’s Macgregor Village, is dessert heaven. February is #NationalBakingMonth, and we can’t think of a better place than to celebrate. Rest assured the selection is massive, but here are our top 3 favorite baked goods at Asali.

We can’t mention baked goods at Asali without thinking first of the Macarons. On any given day, the shelves are stocked with up to 12 tasty flavors. You’ll find something for the foodies seeking unique flavor combos, like Pistachio Rose and Lavender Lemon, as well as flavors that are just plain fun, like S’mores, Tutti Frutti and Cake Batter. Made with almond flour, Macarons are also a great option for those seeking a gluten-free dessert.

Of course Asali is heaven for those with a sweet tooth, but we can’t overlook their incredible savory baked goods. Asali offers Breakfast Pastries filled with feta cheese, egg, and your choice of spinach or tomato. Talk about the perfect breakfast on-the-go! These pastries are that illusive combo of delicious AND good for you.

Our third pick is a must-try. Owner Hanadi Asad is known for her buttery, flaky, out-of-this-world Baklava. Chopped walnut or pistachio is sandwiched between layers of buttered filo dough, baked, then drizzled with their delicious sweet syrup. If you’re a Baklava lover too, do yourself a favor and order the Baklava Cheesecake. Decadent layers of cheesecake and baklava make for one seriously indulgent treat.
