Cape Fear Farm Credit and AgCarolina Farm Credit Outcome with The Produce Box Partnership
Cape Fear Farm Credit and AgCarolina Farm Credit concluded their partnership with The Produce Box to connect local young, beginning and small farmers products and stories to consumers. For each box purchased, Cape Fear Farm Credit and AgCarolina Farm Credit matched that purchase to donate in areas challenged by food insecurity throughout eastern North Carolina. Together, the two Farm Credit Associations jointly matched and donated 200 Young, Beginning and Small Farmer Boxes that were distributed by distribution partners, Pembroke Housing Authority, Lumberton Housing Authority, UNCP CARE Resource Center, and First Fruit Ministries in Wilmington.
Cape Fear Farm Credit and AgCarolina Farm Credit are passionate about connecting consumers to the local farmers that take pride in growing food to feed others. Employees from both Cape Fear Farm Credit and AgCarolina Farm Credit volunteered time in packing the matched Young, Beginning and Small Produce boxes and supported in delivering to local distribution partners.
