3 Reasons Why Videos are Essential for Your Brand

Author: Zach Stamey, Videographer

With measures that have been and continue to be put in place to keep people at home as much as possible, we are living in a time of uncertainty now as we attempt to collectively stop the spread of COVID-19. Our efforts in slowing the pandemic have resulted in adverse changes to how businesses are now operating. Many "non-essential" businesses have closed their doors for the time being, and food industry businesses are working hard to shift gears to cater to deliveries and curbside pickup where this had not been in practice previously. With so many people working from home or just surfing the internet out of curiosity, there has been a surge in online presence unlike anything seen before. People are now heavily relying on shopping online and deliveries in an effort to be socially distant. With all those eyes out there searching, it is a crucial time for your brand to stand out among the rest and the most impactful way to capture their attention is with engaging videos.  Below I have outlined 3 reasons why videos are essential for your brand; now more than ever.

3 REASONS WHY VIDEOS ARE ESSENTIAL FOR YOUR BRAND

  1. GRAB ATTENTION FAST - First and foremost, videos are a very fast way to engage with your audience. A lot of people want to know what your company or your product is all about as quickly as possible as they are scrolling through many things online. The internet provides a vast source of information and if you have ever logged into Netflix and spent half an hour just trying to decide what to watch, then you know what I mean; there are lots of options out there. So having your brand stand out with an engaging video will quickly grab the attention of someone who might have easily scrolled right past you.

  2. THE STATS DON'T LIE - According to research, having a video embedded in your website will make your page 50 times more likely to show up on the first page on Google organically and video search results have a 41% higher click-through than plain text results. Clearly, the stats show that video is gold when marketing your brand. Source: Brainshark.

  3. BUILD CONFIDENCE - Having a well-made video for your brand can help create a personal connection with your audience by putting a face to the brand. When people feel connected, they build trust and they stay loyal. This will give them the confidence to make online purchases and invest in your brand. They will also be very likely to share your brand as they would share a post by a friend and word of mouth referrals go light-years beyond any marketing that you can do alone. Below is a great example of a video we produced that highlights Noble Smoke and their relationship with Heritage Farms Cheshire Pork, a company where the barbecue restaurant purchase their pork from.

WHAT CAN YOU DO RIGHT NOW?

Currently, videographers aren't available to film for your brand as we are all practicing social distancing and safety with isolation, but that doesn't have to stop you from forging ahead. Most everyone has cell phones with decent cameras and the ability to film. Making videos that are short and engaging with you talking directly to your customers can create or keep a strong connection to new or current customers. Social media is a great way to get your videos out into the world and posting to Instagram Stories or Facebook Stories can be a simple and effective way to get the word out to people.

If you want something with higher production value, then you can always send your footage to a video professional who can edit your video with music and graphics to keep up a higher quality standard for your brand during this pandemic. Most videographers are out of work now since they cannot be around other people for filming, so there is a great resource of available editors now and with the decline in video work, they will likely be able to edit your videos very fast.

If you want to be empowered to film and edit your content on your own, now is a great time to learn. You can spend hours searching through videos online, or you could connect directly with a video professional who may now have the time to teach you one-on-one via video calls and teach you video production.

So, just because everyone is staying isolated and the world has slowed and shifted its pace, doesn't mean that your brand has to suffer in the interim. You have all of the options available to use video to powerfully market your brand and capture the attention of the vast and growing online presence of people.

Stay safe and have fun filming!
