Tabletop Media Group's 2019 Highlights

It’s certainly a day for reflection as we look back at all of the exciting things that happened in 2019. This was a year of growth at Tabletop Media Group with additions of new clients and team members, grand openings, and much more. For the last day of the year, we are highlighting a few of our favorite moments. We can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store!

Back in March we added a new Social Media Manager to our team, Lewis! Working with Lewis brings so much joy to our already great team. Lewis is always positive, hardworking, and a terrific caption writer! Meet Lewis here.

As the year went on, it just got sweeter and sweeter! In May we welcomed a new client, Asali Desserts & Cafe, and were ecstatic to help coordinate their grand opening party. Media came out to sample their truly delicious dessert, coffee, and tea menus as a great way to spread the news on social media about this stunning space located in Cary, NC. We look forward to working with owners Hanadi and Jaamal in 2020!

STIR Raleigh’s Grand Opening

Tabletop organized our largest grand opening party to date back in June at STIR in North Hills! Our team worked to solidify more than 3,000 invites to STIR’s grand and soft openings for a successful first week in business. STIR is the perfect fit for Raleigh, NC and we’ve enjoyed working with their team who is based in Chattanooga, TN. Be on the lookout for STIR’s 2020 project: a Charlotte location!

Spanglish Durham’s Grand Opening

Our client reach expanded to downtown Durham this year and we couldn’t have been more excited! The Spanglish team opened their first brick and mortar location in Durham this July and we helped coordinate a media night to welcome them to the Durham area. Many delicious empanadas were enjoyed! Spanglish received many features like on ABC11 TV’s “Now Open” segment, and made WRAL’s list of the biggest Triangle restaurant news from 2019.

The highly anticipated opening of Coronato Pizza happened back in August and let’s just say we’ve eaten our weight (and then some) of Chef Teddy Diggs’s delicious Roman-style pizza. Our public relations and social media teams worked hard to promote the new Carborro, NC restaurant and they’ve seen continued success (like a glowing review from the News & Observer’s Greg Cox!) that they look forward to carrying into the New Year.

kō•än’s Grand Opening

kō•än in Cary, NC announced their opening in late October and we were so happy to be a part of this occasion. Our public relations and social media teams helped get the word out for yet another highly anticipated opening with media invites and a big social push. Chef Drew Smith, owner Sean Degnan, General Manager Brandy Ray and many other kō•än team members have become great friends and we are just thrilled to be working with them. The kō•än has received many media accolades including features on ABC11 TV, the cover of Triangle Business Journal’s Book of Lists 2019 and Kitty Kinnin’s Sound Palate Podcast on 96.1 BBB.

New Team Member: Corey Kaminski

In November we were thrilled to add Corey Kaminski to our team as our new Director of Sales and Marketing! Corey always wears a smile and has already done so much to benefit our growing company. We look forward to continuing to work with and learn from her. She brings many years of hard work and experience to the #TabletopTeam! Learn more about Corey here.

Ponytail Ag Campaign

We spent a large portion of our year working with the NC Biotechnology Center, NC Farm Bureau, NC Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, and Feed the Dialogue NC on the Ponytail Ag campaign. During this statewide tour, we traveled to each of North Carolina’s six regions—Western, Greater Charlotte, Piedmont Triad, Research Triangle Park, Eastern, Southeastern—to interview some amazing women involved in the agriculture industry. Learn more about the campaign here! Plus, stay tuned for some awesome videos by our videographer Zach Stamey to be launched in early 2020 on the Ponytail Ag YouTube channel.

Team Building

Here at Tabletop Media Group we started a new tradition of getting together to do a team building activity at least once a quarter. Because we’re all remote workers, we like to make the time to see each other where we *try* to not talk about work and just enjoy each others’ company. We’re very lucky to be friends with our coworkers and all enjoy a fun day out and good food, of course!
