The Tabletop Team's Favorite Thanksgiving Dishes
It’s officially Thanksgiving week! Our bellies are growling with excitement as we enter these next few tasty days. It’s been a long year, but we still have so much to be thankful for. To get everyone excited for the week, we asked our team to provide their favorite dish at Thanksgiving. Play along and tell us your favorites too!
Kristen - Banana Pudding & Fried Turkey
“Growing up, we always had Thanksgiving at my Grandma and Grandpa's house down in Columbia, SC. One of my most favorite dishes we had every holiday was my Grandma's banana pudding. The recipe is top secret and one year my Grandma gifted me a recipe book with her recipe for this amazing dessert included! Now that I'm married to Zayne, we spend Thanksgiving down in St. Petersburg, Florida and I've created new memories. Of course, I had to share the delicious banana pudding with his family. Each Thanksgiving now, I make two giant batches of banana pudding and they literally lick the pan clean!
We also recently started frying a Thanksgiving turkey for Zayne's family each year. One year, we raised turkeys on our farm and these were the best ever! It was so fulfilling to bring pasture-raised turkeys from our farm in North Carolina to the family meal in Florida. These turkeys were super juicy and made our meal! (bunch of photos attached - feel free to put some side-by-side if you want).
Amanda - Mashed Potatoes
“My favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner is the mashed potatoes with gravy. It's comfort food at its finest.”
Danielle - Caramel Apple Pie Cheesecake Bars
“Being a head baker of course I am going to share dessert! These are my caramel apple pie cheesecake bars. They have a shortbread crust with a layer of cheesecake followed by an apple pie filling topped with a cinnamon streusel topping. All made from scratch.”
Jorden - Sweet Potato Casserole
“There are so many things that I love about Thanksgiving, but I have to say I have a weakness for sweet potato casserole! Pecans, marshmallows, I’ll take them all!”
Carolina - Creamed Corn Casserole
“For Thanksgiving, I really enjoy eating creamed corn casserole! Anything with corn is so delicious!”
Lewis - Chocolate Pie
“I always make sure to save room for dessert at Thanksgiving, because my favorite part of the meal is chocolate pie! A slice with coffee the next morning also makes for a great breakfast. :)”
Quinn - Mama’s Dressing
“I have so many favorite dishes at Thanksgiving, but I decided to go with one that I can only get at Thanksgiving, which is my mama’s dressing. A lot of people call it ‘stuffing‘ but that is not what my family calls it! It’s made with a corn bread and biscuit filling and she adds in onions, celery, boiled eggs, and a secret seasoning mix that really makes it taste like home. I usually get two helpings and pour lots of gravy on top. The perfect bite is some of the dressing with gravy and a little bit of jellied cranberry sauce.“
