During the Ponytail Ag tour we traveled to each of North Carolina’s six regions—Western, Greater Charlotte, Piedmont Triad, Research Triangle Park, Eastern, Southeastern—to interview some amazing women involved in the agriculture industry.

The Ponytail Ag campaign will make their final stop in Western NC’s Hendersonville, Mills River, Fairview, Grassy Creek and Zionville. Along the way we’ll chat with many inspiring females within the agriculture industry in an effort to promote their innovations and highlight the multiple opportunities for women in the realm of ag.

The Ponytail Ag campaign’s next stop is in the Queen City of Charlotte. We will interview farmers, chefs and brewers to learn about the importance of agriculture within the food and beverage industry.

Ponytail Ag’s four-month agriculture promotional tour starts out in Southeast and Northeast North Carolina, where we will interview five amazing women involved in mariculture, peanuts and cotton farming.

This morning, we take off for our second leg of the tour in the Research Triangle Park (RTP), where we’ll be interviewing some awesome women involved in beekeeping, farm management, ag tech, vineyards & wineries, soil health, and food processing.

In an effort to promote some of the amazing North Carolina women in agriculture, the N.C. Biotechnology Center’s Ag Sector Development team, N.C. Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, N.C. Farm Bureau and Feed the Dialogue N.C. created the Ponytail Ag campaign. During the four-month tour, key stakeholders from each organization will be traveling across the state’s six regions —Western, Greater Charlotte, Piedmont Triad, Research Triangle Park, Eastern and Southeastern— to interview influential women involved in all aspects of agriculture, from the farm to the lab and from government to schools.

Farm Bureau, and Feed the Dialogue N.C. have partnered to launch the Ponytail Ag campaign. This collaboration will highlight the contributions of women to agriculture across our state.
