Sassool Announces Top 3 Finalists of the Annual Hummus Mix-Off
Raleigh, NC – November 19, 2024 – Sassool Mediterranean Café is thrilled to announce the top three finalists of the much-anticipated Annual Hummus Mix-Off! This year’s competition, which saw an incredible 34 entries, showcased the community's love for hummus with inventive recipes and unique flavors. After a tough round of judging, the top three finalists have been selected:
Felice Bogus – Kimchi Hummus with Gochujaro Chickpeas and Scallion Oil
Miriam Petty – Dill Hummus
Roshuana Smith – Pistachio Hummus
Each of these finalists brought something special to the table, from distinctive ingredient pairings to bold flavors. Their creative recipes impressed a panel of esteemed judges, including Kurt Dusterberg of Midtown Magazine, Triangle Family Magazine, and 5 West, renowned food writer Eric Ginsburg, and chef and restaurant consultant Liz Grandchamp.

The ultimate winner of the Annual Hummus Mix-Off will be decided by the public during Sassool’s festive holiday event, Winterfest, held on December 7, 2024 at their beautiful event venue, FigMint Farms. Sassool will be selling a variety of lunch options, including delicious chicken shawarma nachos and other fan favorites. This family-friendly event will feature food tastings, s’mores at the fire pit, a holiday coloring station, bounce house, face painter and, of course, the final taste-off for the Hummus Mix-Off, where attendees can sample and vote for their favorite hummus creation.
