National Dog Day with The Tabletop Team!

We are major animal lovers here at Tabletop! Most of us have a pet of some sort, but today is National Dog Day so we had to do a special blog for our four-legged, tail wagging loves. For some extra happiness today, take a scroll down below but warning: there is MAJOR cuteness ahead!

Kristen - Founder

“Cheerwine, Doc and Tres are our three pups! Cheerwine is full of energy and the first very dog I've ever welcomed into my family. I adopted her when I was in graduate school and it was the best decision I could have made at the time! She's a big part of why I wake up early and her spunky personality always starts my day off on the right foot. Cheerwine really wanted a friend, and when Zayne and I moved out to the country, we decided to adopt Doc. Doc showed up at a friend's back porch with a gunshot wound and was a pretty beat up, old hunting dog. When we adopted him he was very timid at first but now he is the sweetest, most humble dog you'll ever meet - just don't get in the way of his food! Doc and Cheerwine are best of friends and can always be caught cuddled up next to each other. Tres is our newest addition and happened by chance. Zayne was driving in Virginia and saw him get hit by a car. Zayne scooped Tres up from the side of the road and after a roller coaster of vet visits, we had to amputate his leg. He's now our three-legged dog and the fastest runner that you'll ever meet! Everyone always asks us, "what happened to his leg?" so he's a really great conversation starter on a walk. Our three dogs have the best lives, travel with us everywhere we go and all enjoy sunbathing on the deck or a long car ride - they are definitely a big part of our family!“

“Boone, our German Shorthaired Pointer, is so goofy and always making us laugh. He deserves a special shoutout for how well he gets along with our toddler and two cats!“

“Funny that Dog Day is coming up because I actually just got a dog yesterday! My roommate and I adopted her from a shelter and she’s the sweetest thing ever. Her name is Bella Gray and she’s a 6 year old Border Collie mix. I love her because she’s smart, affectionate, and loves to play. I think I love her even more than she loves to play fetch. :))“

“Here is my sweet baby Leo!! <3 I love Leo because he has SO much personality... he LOVES to talk! He's also such a cuddle bug and mama's boy so I can't complain. He's my sweet little rescue dog and I wouldn't have it any other way. Dogs really are the best!! :)“

“Happy National Dog Day to my peanut butter-obsessed, four-legged best friend! Welcome, Pumba, 10-year-old puggle, a.ka my child. When someone asks me, "Why do I love him?" Honestly, where do I begin? The reasons are endless because the amount of joy he brings into my life is unexplainable and my love for him is unconditional. Pumba has been there to make some of my worst days better, and I honestly can't imagine my life without him.

The reasons why I adore this little old man of mine:

First off, his snaggletooth, big beady eyes, and pigtail

His "peanut butter dance!" Pumba continuously spins in circles until he gets his favorite treat

He's a dog without a voice unless he sees ballons. A few years ago, my birthday balloons made this discovery

When he paws at my blanket so he can sleep beside me or when he curls up between my legs

Pumba is a trooper after having two surgeries to remove cancer (His cancer is uncurable, but he's got his!)

He's similar to owning a pet pig

We love taking long walks to avoid the puddles of rain, large or small

He's part cat because he loves a good game of chasing the laser

Hakuna Matata...

I'm pawsing because the list will never end if I don't walk away now.”

“My husband and I consider our first born our sweet Boston Terrier/Jack Russel Mix, Packer. We got him when we were in college and he has been with us through so many life hurdles. I truly can’t put into words the joy he brings us and the amount of love we have for his sweet self. I think what I love about him most is that he is only super cuddly with a select few people, so you know when he let’s you in, it’s really something special. Since becoming pregnant, he has been more protective of me than ever -even more reason to love him. To us, he is the cutest thing in the world!!”
