Kanki Japanese House of Steak & Sushi Announces Retro 70’s-Themed 50th Anniversary Celebration

Kanki Japanese House of Steak & Sushi announces their 50th anniversary 70’s-themed celebration. This special event will take place on Thursday, September 15, from 4:00p.m. to 10:00p.m. at their Crabtree Valley Mall location for dine-in only. Kanki is excited to celebrate 50 years of food, fun and fire with their loyal customers and will serve a throwback menu featuring selections from their opening night in 1972, guest chefs from 94.7QDR, a retro best-dressed contest, dancing, a DJ, and prizes. Kanki will have a 50th anniversary menu featuring original dishes from their grand opening in 1972. These throwback items include Stuffed Mushrooms, Shrimp Cocktail, Salmon Canapes, Gyoza Potstickers, a Retro Cocktail Special and more. Having completed Kanki's Master Chef Program, 94.7QDR's Mike Whellis and Captain Dave will be guest chefs for a select number of attendees.

Kanki’s 50th anniversary celebration is open to the public and reservations are required. Reservations can be made through Kanki’s website.

Kanki has been locally owned and operated since their flagship location opened at Crabtree Valley Mall in 1972. Since then, Kanki has opened two additional locations - one in North Raleigh and one in Durham/Chapel Hill. Kanki is known for being the Triangle's favorite place for celebrations.
