Friends of Tabletop: Meet Lauren from Raleigh Magazine!

Friends of Tabletop is a place where we share who we love working with. This can range from a client, influencer/blogger, or special someone who simply means a lot to the Tabletop Team. Colleagues and friends who we’ve met throughout our journey with Tabletop Media Group make us a part of who we are.

For our November Friends of Tabletop, meet Lauren from Raleigh Magazine!

Tell us about Raleigh Magazine and your position there.

I am the Associate Editor at Raleigh Magazine, and in that position I wear a lot of hats! This includes writing/editing stories for our print issues and website; creating posts for our social platforms; curating our newsletters; and staying on top of all things Raleigh.

What’s your favorite thing about working with Raleigh Magazine?

Over the years of working at Raleigh Magazine I’ve gotten to make incredible connections with people from all over the city—and beyond. Forming this network has been such a pleasure! And I look forward to forming new connections each month. Also, every day is different, which keeps me excited!

Do you have a fun story from working with Raleigh Magazine?

Oh boy, there’s so many! But one that comes to mind is writing about Dreamville Festival. This past year I got to go to the Artist’s Lounge and interview Waka Flacka Flame and some other artists which was a super-cool experience!

What’s your favorite coffee and/or cocktail order?

I love a chai latte (s/o Jubala’s!). When it comes to cocktails, my go-to order is a gin and tonic.

What’s your favorite Thanksgiving dish?

Stuffing

What’s your favorite fall treat?

Fount Coffee + Kitchen in Morrisville has the best seasonal muffins!

What’s your favorite thing to do in Raleigh?

Try out new restaurants/bars

What is one of your unpopular opinions?

I love candy corn :)

What’s your favorite book or movie?

My favorite movie is probably The Big Lebowski. I’m also a sucker for Paddington. :)

What’s the most useful lesson you’ve learned from being in your role?

It’s all about who you know! Keep your sources close, but also, never burn a bridge. In my role it’s crucial to keep a source’s secret until they’re ready to have their news shared.
