Friends of Tabletop: Meet Damien from Dame Eats This
Friends of Tabletop is a place where we share who we love working with. This can range from a client, influencer/blogger, or special someone who simply means a lot to the Tabletop Team. Colleagues and friends who we’ve met throughout our journey with Tabletop Media Group make us a part of who we are.
For our August Friends of Tabletop, meet Damien from Dame Eats This!
Tell us about Dame Eats This.
Dame Eats This follows my food adventures, whether I'm at home cooking or somewhere eating. Just a glimpse into the life of an all-around foodie.
Why did you start Dame Eats This?
It actually started as a joke in the house between my wife and myself. I made some chicken nachos one day and snapped a picture. I told her, you know what, I should start a food blog. She says what would you call it, and I said Dame Eats This. We both kind of just laughed it off, but I guess it worked.
What is your least favorite food?
You know what, I don't really care for scallops or brussel sprouts... I mean I've tried but that's a no for me.
What about favorite food?
Any Italian dish would probably be my favorite, hard to pinpoint a specific one.
Bar order? If you don't drink, what's your coffee order?
I'm definitely a Bourbon guy, so if you see me at the bar, it's a good chance I have some... maybe with a splash of Coke.
What is one of your unpopular opinions?
That foodies or food influencers are unapproachable. I've heard people make comments or seem to shy away because they think they can't talk to them or us in public. We are very much normal people, please speak if you see me.
Where is your favorite place to eat in The Triangle?
Right now, I would say STIR, the oysters will not stop calling me.
Do you have a favorite story about how you got to where you are in your career?
Not really, besides just remembering my first post. I'm not sure what I really expected coming in or how things should be done. I thought it would be an instant success, and it was definitely not. The first post keeps me humble as to everything that goes on now.
If you could redo one thing regarding your social influencer career, what would it be?
If I knew then what I know now, I would've started this years ago.
What's the most useful lesson you've learned from being a social influencer?
Quality & Honesty over Quantity & Dishonesty
