Friends of Tabletop: Meet Anna Haddock of The Coffee Table Blog
We are so excited to continue our monthly series highlighting the many social influencers and bloggers who have become not only our colleagues, but our friends throughout our journey with Tabletop Media Group. A couple of months ago, we started a new series here on the #TabletopTalk blog called, “Friends of Tabletop.” We’re here to spread some positivity and highlight the bloggers + influencers who we enjoy collaborating with and who are so incredibly talented!
This month, we are especially excited to have a 🎄Christmas themed🎅 blog featuring a friend and fellow Christmas lover, Anna Haddock of The Coffee Table Blog. Check out our fun and festive Q&A with her!
Tell us about The Coffee Table Blog.
I started The Coffee Table Blog as a safe space to talk about any topic and welcome others into that cozy conversation. In my experience, some of the best conversation has been had around the coffee table. But sometimes life makes it difficult to have everyone around one table at once with mugs in their hands, so I want to do this virtually. The Coffee Table is a place where one can find a bit of bliss, holding a mug or not, wherever you might be. A place to find respite and enjoy coffee talks of faith, life, love, fashion, friendship, this, that, & the other.
Why do you write about food & fashion?
The most important thing I wanted to make sure of when I started my blog is that I never limited it to only one subject. I knew the things that are “on brand” for my blog are simply the things that I love and those things include BOTH food and fashion. Fun fact, I started college studying fashion and ended up with a degree in nutrition soooooo that explains a little bit too.
What is your favorite Christmas tradition?
Every year on Christmas Eve night, right before bed (so Santa can come), my family watches It’s A Wonderful Life together. We’ve done it for as long as I can remember and it never fails to feel special.
What's your favorite Christmas cookie?
Peanut Butter Blossoms. Hands down. Not sure that’s specifically a Christmas cookie, but the only time of year my mom makes them is for Christmas so that is exactly what comes to mind for me. I can also go ham on some homemade sugar cookies with crystal sprinkles.
Holiday bar order?
A cranberry mule or some sort of apple cider + prosecco mix. Also, cranberry mimosas with candied cranberries added in. AH need one right now. I love the Christmas pop up bar at The Haymaker every year. They have the best holiday cocktails!
Holiday coffee order?
Easy. Grande iced latte, nonfat milk, one pump of mocha and one pump of peppermint. If I am going somewhere local, I’d do a cold brew with a little cream and a pump of seasonal syrup. Yellow Dog is definitely a go to during the festive season.
Go-to Christmas pajamas?
I got the softest pair of pajamas during a White Elephant gift exchange last year. They are navy blue, technically mens, covered in Homer Simpson and Christmas lights. I wear them 5/7 nights a week. If I am trying to be classy, I have a silky red gown that always gets me in the holiday spirit.
What's the most useful lesson you've learned from being a blogger?
Don’t be afraid to experiment. I started out talking mostly about fashion because that seemed to be the only type of blogger, but now I talk just as much about food and local restaurants. Never be afraid to post about something if it is interesting to you. I guarantee someone else will relate!
If you could redo one thing in regards to your blogging / social influencer career what would it be?
I would start earlier! I had thought about it for so long and let the fear of what other people would think, keep me from just doing it. I’m glad I finally had the courage to just go for it. Also, I would have gotten one more Aperol Spritz at the media night at Il Palio. That tis all.
