The Bistro at Topsail Receives Wine Spectator's 2018 Award of Excellence
Surf City, North Carolina (July 12, 2018) - The Bistro at Topsail is the proud recipient of Wine Spectator's 2018 Award of Excellence. Only seven restaurants in coastal North Carolina are recipients of this 2018 award, while globally only 2,453 restaurants achieved recognition.
The Bistro, being Topsail's first and original recipient of this award has managed to bring home the Award of Excellence for yet a fourth year. Chef-Owner Bud Taylor and Sommelier Jena Schmidt have worked hard to create a wine list that is approachable to the beginner as well as the enthusiast.
Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence recognizes restaurants whose wine lists feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style. Whether compact or extensive, focused or diverse, these wine lists deliver appropriate choices to satisfy discerning wine lovers. Typically, the winning lists offer at least 90 selections.
