STIR Announces Exclusive Maker’s Mark Distillery Dinner

STIR is collaborating with Maker’s Mark to create an exclusive five-course dinner on Thursday, May 30th, 2024, at 6:30p.m. Tommy Quimby, Maker’s Mark diplomat, will share his passion and knowledge of their exquisite, world-renowned spirits. This is also a time for guests to taste STIR’s Maker’s Mark Private Selection Barrel.  STIR is located at 4242 Six Forks Road Raleigh, NC 27609.

STIR’s Maker’s Mark Private Selection Barrel

Maker's Mark Private Selection offers a new customized take on the Maker's Mark 46 process and begins with cask-strength bourbon as the base. Each barrel is specially fitted with 10 wood-finishing staves (a vertical wooden post or plank) in a limestone cellar and aged for an additional 9 weeks. What makes this process so special is the 1,001 possible combinations due to the level of customization from using just five different staves. As single-barrel bourbons, all expressions of Maker's Mark Private Selections are bottled at cask strength - which ranges from 107 to 114 proof. A group of STIR beverage consultants from multiple locations gathered for an in-depth look into the Maker's Mark Legacy and what makes their distillation & aging process so unique. STIR explored the different wood types, textures and tasted samples of each expression to understand what each stave imparts. STIR worked with the Maker’s Mark team to create a perfect blend of 10 staves to develop their Maker’s Mark Private Selection Barrel.

This special dinner will feature five varieties of Maker’s Mark meticulously paired with chef-curated dishes. The menu is as follows:

Amuse Bouche | Fried Oyster Slider / sesame seed bun, slaw, caper remoulade

About STIR

STIR is the perfect restaurant for a casual lunch, elevated night out, or to sip on a cocktail with a dozen of our fresh oysters. STIR boasts an extensive lunch, dinner and weekend brunch menu. Believing that great food starts with fresh ingredients, STIR’s kitchen prepares everything from scratch. Their signature cold bar is stocked with fresh rotating oysters and seasonal seafood. Known for elevated craft cocktails & artisanal ice, STIR freezes and carves 300-pound blocks of ice into custom sizes while also blending their own cordials and syrups in-house. Cocktails are either barrel-aged to embark richer & smoother oak flavors or placed on draft for crispness & carbonation. This attention to detail allows STIR to offer an experience like no other.

STIR is not only focused on partnering with local charitable organizations but is also heavily focused on giving back to their team members. SquareUp, the charitable organization created by STIR’s hospitality ownership company, assists employees who require financial support during times of economic hardship through the HOPE (Helping Our People in Emergencies) Fund. Donations range between $500 and $1,000 to help employees facing natural disasters, illness, injury or other emergencies.
