Village District Welcomes Postino WineCafé to Shopping Center

A favorite neighborhood destination and local icon for Raleigh shoppers and diners since 1949, Village District, announces the addition of Postino WineCafé. This dynamic, market-first concept comes on the heels of the shopping center’s 75th anniversary and brings the property to 99% leased.

“Finding a place for an operator like Postino is one of the best parts of the job,” said Nate Smith, Vice President and Market Officer for Regency. “We take a lot of pride in this property, and being able to bring fresh experiences to the market reflects our team’s passion here. Postino is one of the most sought after restaurant concepts in the country and we are thrilled that they will be joining our fantastic tenant mix at Village District soon.”

Offering an ever-changing selection of boutique wines, craft brews and specialty cocktails, paired with a decked-out menu of bruschetta, panini, salads and a lineup of crave-worthy charcuterie boards and shareables, the Postino team is dreaming up a one-of-a-kind kicked back space served up with a sophisticated twist. Postino WineCafé draws its name from the Italian word for postman – an homage to the former 1940’s post office where the first Postino was born over 20 years ago – but each location is unique to the neighborhood and community in which it lives.

Postino has become synonymous with serving as the perfect date night spot, host for your everyday happy hour, and gathering space for friends and family to catch up over great food and drink. Other Postino hallmarks include sophisticated mid-century modern furniture sourced from local vintage shops, off-beat found objects and showstopping art installations, rollup garage doors, custom walnut wine walls, and playlists that keep the good times rolling. Plus, what makes Postino special, their simple yet powerful mission to “Make People Feel Good.”

"We put an enormous amount of thought and intention around where we open Postino. We really listen to our guests and have been getting a lot of requests to come to North Carolina. When we found this location in Village District that's been somewhat of a historic landmark in the community, we had to jump,” says Lauren Bailey, CEO and Co-Founder of Upward Projects. "We're currently restoring the space that has such awesome bones. We can't wait to join the Raleigh community this Spring, and to create an approachable and inspired space for neighbors and friends to connect over a glass of wine and welcoming hospitality.”

“Regency Centers is looking forward to having Postino join our lineup of merchants at Village District,” said Brooke Conn, General Manager of Village District. “Adding another restaurant with their offerings and elevated atmosphere will further allow us to grow our nighttime options for the Raleigh area.”
